reviwe dragonball evolution from the movieboy

Based on the Japanese manga by Akira Toriyama, "Dragonball: Evolution" is convoluted, but easy to follow most of the time. That doesn't mean that any of it makes sense, though. For two thousand years, ancient alien warlord Lord Piccolo (James Marsters) has been mystically imprisoned, his plans to destroy the earth thwarted by the magic spell he has been under. When Piccolo escapes, he sets out with henchwoman Mai (Eriko) to track down seven orbs known as dragonballs and, at the arrival of the impending solar eclipse, use them for evil. When his beloved grandfather (Randall Duk Kim) is murdered during Piccolo's search for one of the balls, 18-year-old Goku (Justin Chatwin), himself trained in martial arts and telekinesis, sets out with an escalating number of sidekicks—Master Roshi (Chow Yun-Fat), Chi Chi (Jamie Chung), Bulma (Emmy Rossum), and Yamcha (Yoon Park)—to find them first. United as one, the seven dragonballs have the power to grant one wish—just enough to save humankind as we know it.
"Dragonball: Evolution" is amazing in its badness, an action-fantasy hodgepodge of cringe-inducing writing (credited to Ben Ramsey), flat and dreary camerawork, stick-drawn characters, laughable sets that look about as realistic as the ones used in Ed Wood's "Plan 9 from Outer Space," cheaper-than-cheap greenscreen work, and CGI so undistinguished and amateurish that it wouldn't have passed muster in 1989. The narrative jumps from one digitally uglified location to the next without any sense of space, scope or travel. Romantic subplots, particularly the one between Bulma and Yamcha, seem awkwardly forced into the proceedings without any bother for reason or substance. Action set-pieces, like some business with a river of flowing lava, are senseless, and fight choreography, pitting man against man and man against beast, is edited with the cohesion of a blindfolded child cutting his or her own hair. There is no creativity in what director James Wong has rustled up, nor is there any energy or ambition. The budget, whatever it might have been, seems roughly as low as that of a 1970s "Land of the Lost" episode.
Justin Chatwin, he of 2005's "War of the Worlds" and 2007's "The Invisible," and Emmy Rossum, she of 2004's "The Phantom of the Opera" and 2006's "Poseidon," are bright, attractive, promising young actors. At this stage, they probably could have their pick of any number of roles. To have agreed to lend their services to subpar nonsense like "Dragonball: Evolution" suggests they not only sold their souls to the devil, but their brains, too. As Goku, Chatwin gets the lead role and at least a motive behind his actions (he wants vengeance for his grandpa's death). What he doesn't get is good dialogue or direction, consequently embarrassing himself with unconvincing line deliveries and vein-popping facial expressions of seeming constipation.
As for Rossum, her character of Bulma is strictly emptiness personified, lacking the fundamental traits and personality of someone the viewer might want to start and get to know. Instead, Bulma goes through the paces of matter-of-fact tech speak and foggy intentions; does she want the dragonballs to genuinely help in stopping the end of the world, or is she just interested in getting power and fame out of her intended wish? Who knows, and who cares? In other central parts (all of them useless), Jamie Chung (2007's "I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry") is cute and little else as Goku's classmate crush Chi Chi; James Marsters (2007's "P.S. I Love You") is overshadowed by poor alien prosthetics that turn him into an inebriated jester rather than a threatening heavy as the villainous Lord Piccolo; and Chow Yun-Fat (2007's "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End") jumps around with alternating pep and despair whilst wearing a shirt that looks like a tacky Hawaiian tablecloth as Master Roshi.
The very early scenes between Goku and his grandfather, and those depicting what an outcast he is at school, are passable, and the only reason "Dragonball: Evolution" has been saved from the lowest possible rating. From that point on, the film goes down, down, down, finishing with a climax where fake rocks fall and bounce around the confused actors while the camera shakes this way and that. The movie, besides being a technical disaster, is an emotional glacier that makes one feel nothing but bad for those on both sides of the camera. Surely, this abysmal finished product was not what anyone had in mind when the project was initially tackled. What went wrong on its way to reshoots, and then to a distaff, poorly marketed theatrical release? Apparently, just about everything.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen story

Those that remember the finale to Transformers remember a speech given by Optimus Prime calling for the Autobots to head to Earth in an effort to live among the humans and protect them while Starscream flew into space following the death of Megatron. Apparently Starscream’s character will be a bit different than what fans of the first generation of “Transformers” are used to, Mowry told MTV, “He’s more of like a military guy. So in ‘Destiny’ we’re going to see a lot more involvement with [the backgrounds of] Prime and Megatron, [as well as] Cybertron’s history and how that affects the present day. It all centers around the plot of the sequel which I obviously can’t get into. It’ll be explained but you’ll see a lot more expansion of their characters and their motivations and their destinies, if you will.”from www.ropeofsilicon.com

story of harry potter 6 half blood prince

As Lord Voldemort and the Death Eaters create crimes in both the magical and Muggle worlds, Minister for Magic Cornelius Fudge is replaced by Rufus Scrimgeour. In the second chapter, Professor Snape, appearing to have rejoined the Death Eaters and Lord Voldemort, is visited by Narcissa Malfoy and Bellatrix Lestrange. A terrified Narcissa tells Snape that her son Draco has had orders from Lord Voldemort, and Narcissa is clearly terrified that the orders will spell her son's doom. She asks Snape to make an unbreakable vow with her to protect her son and do the job for him, should Draco fail. Snape agrees, and the vow is sealed.
Harry Potter accompanies Albus Dumbledore on a trip to persuade retired Hogwarts professor, Horace Slughorn, to return to teach. Harry notices that one of Dumbledore's hands is withered and burnt black, and that he is wearing a ring with a distinctively-marked stone. Harry spends the remaining holiday at The Burrow with the Weasleys and Hermione, where they receive their O.W.L. results. To become Aurors, Harry and Ron must take N.E.W.T. Level Potions, but their O.W.L.s in the subject are too low to enroll in Snape's class.
At Hogwarts, Snape is unexpectedly announced as the new Defense Against the Dark Arts instructor, with Slughorn becoming the Potions teacher. Harry and Ron’s O.W.L.s are good enough to enroll in Slughorn’s class, which has lower standards, but neither had purchased the textbook, so Slughorn lends them old Potions textbooks. Harry's book has notes and corrections scribbled all over the pages. Harry discovers that these corrections yield better results than the textbook's instructions and that the book is inscribed as having previously belonged to the "Half-Blood Prince". As the year continues, Ron dates Lavender Brown but then returns to Hermione. Harry realizes that he has feelings (that are conflicting with his friendship with Ron) for Ginny, who has stopped pursuing him and is dating Dean Thomas.
During the school year at Hogwarts, Dumbledore privately tutors Harry, using his Pensieve to show Harry collected memories about Voldemort's past. Dumbledore asks Harry to retrieve a key memory from Slughorn that Slughorn has resisted providing, regarding Slughorn's conversation with a sixth-year Tom Riddle. After disappointing Dumbledore once by not getting the memory from Slughorn, Harry uses Felix Felicis potion (which bestows a day of luck on its drinker) that he had been rewarded with for his newfound "skill" (derived almost entirely from written hints from the Half-Blood Prince) in potion making, to gain the memory.
The series of memories reveals that to attain immortality, Voldemort splintered his soul (through committing murders) into six fragments attached to objects called Horcruxes, while leaving a seventh piece in his body. As long as any of the Horcruxes exist, Voldemort cannot be killed. Two Horcruxes have been destroyed: Tom Riddle's diary by Harry in the Chamber of Secrets[HP2] and Marvolo Gaunt's ring by Dumbledore (the ring Harry noticed on his hand earlier). The memories indicate that three other Horcruxes are most likely a locket formerly owned by Salazar Slytherin, a cup formerly owned by Helga Hufflepuff, and the snake Nagini; but the last of the six Horcruxes remains unidentified. Dumbledore speculates that it may be a possession of Gryffindor or Ravenclaw, as Tom Riddle would have wanted a possession of each of the founders of Hogwarts, his first and only real home.
After seeing Harry cast an unusual curse, "Sectumsempra" (which slashes its victim repeatedly all over his/her body) against Draco Malfoy, Snape attempts to repossess Harry's Potions book, but Harry gives him Ron's copy instead and hides his copy in the Room of Requirement, noting several other items hidden there over the years. He then distinguishes the cabinet that the book is in with an old bust wearing a wig and a strange looking tiara. Harry gets detention from Snape and misses the Quidditch finals, but Gryffindor wins the Cup with Ron and Ginny starring in the match. During the victory celebration, Harry spontaneously kisses Ginny and they begin dating, with Ron's reluctant approval.
Dumbledore locates another Horcrux and asks Harry to accompany him to destroy it. They apparate to a secret cave to retrieve Slytherin's locket. Harry and Dumbledore find the cave, present a blood offering to a secret door, and row in a small boat across an Inferi-infested lake.To acquire the locket, Dumbledore must drink a mysterious liquid. Apparently gravely injured by the potion, he deliriously pleads to die.
Harry retrieves the Horcrux and guides Dumbledore to safety in Hogsmeade. But as they arrive, they see the Dark Mark hovering over the Astronomy Tower at Hogwarts and hurriedly return to the school.
Dumbledore and an invisibility-cloaked Harry are confronted atop the tower by Draco Malfoy, and before Harry can reveal himself, Dumbledore immobilizes Harry with a silent spell. Malfoy disarms Dumbledore, who sacrificed the time to defend himself to immobilize Harry, and admits that he, Draco, was behind a series of attacks on Hogwarts students, and that Voldemort has ordered him to kill Dumbledore. Dumbledore offers Draco the chance to change sides, and promises to hide Draco and his mother where Voldemort will never find them. Draco cannot bring himself to kill the headmaster, when suddenly Snape--who has also seen the Dark Mark--arrives and casts “Avada Kedavra”, killing Dumbledore. Harry, enraged and freed from immobility by Dumbledore's death, pursues Snape, who reveals that he is the "Half-Blood Prince" (as his mother was born Eileen Prince to a wizard family and his father was a muggle) and duels Harry until he gets outside Hogwarts and disapparates.
Harry recovers the locket from Dumbledore's body, only to discover it is a fake left by someone with the initials R. A. B., who had apparently stolen the real Horcrux and left a note about his opposition to Voldemort.
The school year ends abruptly with Dumbledore's funeral. He is buried, along with his wand, at Hogwarts, beside the lake. Hogwarts's fate is uncertain, but Harry vows not to return to school and to hunt for the remaining Horcruxes. Harry breaks up with Ginny to keep her safe from danger during his quest and Ron and Hermione pledge to accompany him.
iron man story

tony stark Robert Downey Jr.) gambles at a Las Vegas casino, leaving his deceased father's friend and business partner, Obadiah Stane (Jeff Bridges), to accept a prestigious award for him. As Stark leaves the casino with his entourage, he is approached by reporter Christine Everhart (Leslie Bibb), whom he charms into a one-night stand at his Malibu house. When she awakens the next morning, Stark is gone and she is coldly greeted by Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow), his personal assistant.
Stark flies off to war-torn Afghanistan with his friend and company military liaison, Lieutenant Colonel James Rhodes (Terrence Howard), for a demonstration of Stark Industries' new weapon, the "Jericho" cluster missile. On the way back, however, his military convoy is attacked. In the firefight, his escort is wiped out and Stark himself is knocked unconscious by one of his own company's bombs.
Waking up in an Afghan cave, he discovers an electromagnet embedded in his chest, placed there by fellow captive Dr. Yinsen (Shaun Toub). Powered by a car battery, it keeps shrapnel from working its way to his heart and killing him. Stark has been captured by a terrorist group known as the Ten Rings, whose leader orders him to build a Jericho missile for him.
Instead, during his three months of captivity, he and Yinsen begin secretly building a crude suit of armor, powered by a miniature "arc reactor" invented by Stark's father. Finally, the terrorists grow impatient and give Stark 24 hours to finish. Unfortunately, the deadline expires before the suit is fully activated, so Yinsen makes a suicidal attack in a desperate bid to buy time. Once the armor is ready, Stark charges through the caves. Near the entrance, a dying Yinsen tells him not to waste his life. Forever grateful to Yinsen, Stark burns all the munitions the terrorists have accumulated and then flies away, only to crash in the desert. Stark survives, but his suit is in pieces. After being rescued by Rhodes, Stark announces at a press conference that his company will no longer manufacture weapons. Stane tells him shortly thereafter that his decision is being blocked by the board of directors of Stark Industries.
Stark focuses his energies on building a better version of his power suit, while making an improved arc reactor for his chest. Potts gives Stark a gift: his first miniature reactor encased in glass and bearing the inscription, "Proof that Tony Stark has a heart". During Stark's first public appearance since his return, he spots Potts wearing a sexy dress and realizes that he has romantic feelings for his assistant. As they are about to share a kiss, Potts interrupts by asking for a martini.
While ordering the drinks, Stark is accosted by Everhart, who shows him pictures of Stark Industries weapons, including Jericho missiles, recently delivered to insurgents. He realizes that Stane has been supplying both the Americans and their enemies, and attempting to remove Stark from power. Enraged, Stark dons the power suit, flies to Afghanistan and rescues a village. While leaving, Stark attracts the attention of the United States Air Force, which dispatches two F-22 Raptors to try to identify the mysterious flying object. Rhodes wants to investigate, but is overruled and the fighters are ordered to destroy the target. During the resulting dogfight, Stark has time to call Rhodes to reveal that he is the unidentified target. One of the planes is accidentally destroyed when it collides with Stark. The pilot ejects, but his parachute will not deploy, so Stark rescues him before escaping.
Stark sends Potts to hack into the company computer system. She discovers that Stane hired the Ten Rings to kill Stark. The group reneged on the deal upon discovering who the target was, which invariably seals their fate when Stane has them eliminated later. She also learns Stane has recovered the pieces of the original power suit and reverse-engineered his own version, one much larger and more powerful than Stark's, but his engineers are unable to construct a small enough arc reactor to power the suit.
After she leaves, Stane discovers what she has done. He ambushes Stark in his house, using a Stark Industries device to temporarily paralyze him. While revealing his plan to take over Stark Industries, Stane removes the arc reactor from Stark's chest and leaves him to die. However, Stark gets to Potts' gift and re-installs his first reactor.
Although his original reactor is underpowered for his latest armor, Stark races to rescue Potts, and a battle erupts between him and Stane. Finding himself outmatched, Stark lures Stane atop the Stark Industries building. With no power left, Stark instructs Potts to overload the full-sized reactor in the building. This unleashes a massive electrical surge that knocks Stane unconscious and sends him through the ceiling into the reactor itself, incinerating him.
The next day, the press has dubbed Stark's alter ego "Iron Man". Rhodes gives reporters a false explanation of what happened. Before speaking, Stark briefly makes an attempt to establish a romantic relationship with Potts, but is put on hold. During the press conference, Stark starts to tell the cover story given to him by S.H.I.E.L.D., a government agency, but then announces that he is Iron Man.
In a post-credits scene, Stark is visited by S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) who notes that Stark is not "the only superhero in the world" and states he wants to discuss the "Avenger Initiative".

do you thing about this movie?
iron man criticize
Morton Downey Jr. gives an inspired performance as the suave, wise-cracking billionaire Tony Stark; as far as I'm concerned Mr. Downey MAKES this movie. Guys and gals will love Gwenyth Paltrow who portrays Tony's super-efficient and attractive girl-Friday, Pepper Potts. She has this really good-looking "girl-next-door" appeal and provides plenty of awkward sexual tension with Tony.
There's enough hi-tech wizardry and computer-aided-design eye-candy to satisfy the geeky sci-fi lovers among us, along with cool weapons and aerial dog-fights.
One of the best things about this movie is that the military AREN'T shown as mindless war-mongers, but as what they are; competent, highly-trained patriots. Capitalists, though, get the usual Hollywood shaft.
I urge you to get this movie, grab a big bowl of hot iron-filings and enjoy the ride!

a story of beowulf

Beowulf displays the qualities of a good leader that were mentioned in the speech given by Hrothgar. The speech speaking of the vices and virtues of great political leaders contains many of the same qualities that Beowulf embodies. His boastfulness, generosity and kindness are evidence that he is a good leader and provides for his people. Although the qualities he posses may not be the best-fit qualities of a common man, they are admirable qualities of a strong leader.
Beowulfs high self-regard acts as a promise to his people. It is a promise saying that he will provide for them and he can keep his country in order and away from harm. Because Beowulf speaks very highly of himself he is required to support his claims and give to the people. Hrothgar claims that flaunting is a way to keep the Geats happy because they believe what he says. I will stand by my word make good my promises. To your Geat-friends now will make you come with counsel courage for their hearts through long comfort years(1706). The Geats need someone to believe in and who would believe in someone with low self-esteem or someone who didnt believe in themselves. The people need assurance and they found that assurance in Beowulf. Beowulf reassures his people that the Dragon will be dealt with and gives them courage to withstand this threat. I lived in my youth through hard war-moments— now here I am ready battle weary king battered with winters for final glory-time if that grim hall burner will come to meet me from his mound of gold (pg. 81). Beowulf wants to reassure his people that he can once again succeed in defeating his enemies. The people believe that Beowulf will succeed again. Beowulfs obligations to the people require him to slay the dragon. Beowulfs self centeredness is what makes him an ideal leader in the eyes of Hrothgar.
Another reason Beowulf is seen as a good leader is because he does not share the characteristics that were spoken of Heremod. Heremod was portrayed as a bad leader due to his murderous attitude and actions. The vices of Heremod characterize a bad leader and Hrothgar points them out like in his treatment of the Danes.
Not so kind was Heremod to the kin of Ecwela care heavy Shield Daneshe brought them no joy but baleful murder dark death sorrows to his Danish followers. With hot rage-thought she ravaged his people hearth-companions til hate severed him, jealous slaughter-king, from the joys of men though the great Measurer marked him for honor of a towering meadhall (pg. 55).
Heremod pays no attention to the needs of his people. He inflicts pain and suffering upon them. The darkness and gloom are associating Heremod to the Misery of the people. The Danes suffering falls upon the hands of Heremod. But Beowulf is nothing like this evil leader. The Geats are content with his leadership and feel no need to rebel. They even grieve the death of Beowulf and mourn him. The Geats praise him at his funeral showing that they valued his leadership.
Hearth companions praised there lost one name him the ablest of all world kings mildest of men and most compassionate most lithe to his people most loving of praise. (Pg. 100)
The Geats preferred Beowulf to any other King so therefore revered him and praised him for his strong leadership. His strong foundation created stability within the Kingdom and that was all the people needed in a time of chaos. This is in direct opposition to what Heremod created and what he stood for.
Heremods greediness is also an inappropriate quality to have among so many other whom required it. The Anglo Saxons are typically rewarded for their duties in the field and their treasures help the morale of the country and unify the people more. Heremods lack of wealth distribution breaks up his country and builds low morale for the people. To his mind came rushing blood hungry thoughts- no bracelets or rings he gave to his warriors (pg. 55). Heremod only takes from the people and does not give back. His warriors are not rewarded and therefore do not give full effort when fighting.
Beowulf wants to create a sense of morale among his people and the only way to do it is to give monetary rewards back to the people. Even when Beowulf is injured he gives Wiglaf a gold necklace from around his neck for slaying the dragon that had been destroying the town. He removed from his throat a marvelous neck-ring gold gleaming collar gave it to his thane (pg. 89). Beowulfs generosity and benevolence are prime examples of his ability to reward his people. Beowulf continues to be a glorious leader even in times of distress.
Even though Beowulfs demise was in search of materialistic goods the people still praised him and his deeds. This could be construed as greediness and compared to Heremods deeds but Beowulf intents are completely different even though they seem to be similar. Beowulf intends to give back to the people while Heremod plans to keep all for himself. It may seem Beowulf is materialistic but he only has the welfare of his country in mind. He has a responsibility to the Geats to keep them prosperous even when he is gone. Beowulf thanks the heavens and claims he will leave all the treasure for his people: thanks to the Wielder Wonder-King of all our glorious Shaper for such gold and gemstones that I now may leave to my beloved Geatfolk (pg. 89). Beowulf wants to die knowing that his people will be well cared for and continue to prosper even in his absence. He wants to die knowing the Geats will be wealthy.
Hrothgar warns Beowulf that he is not a god and can be killed and just because he hasnt suffered defeat doesnt mean he wont. Hrothgar warns him not to care for pride meaning that he will not always be this strong:
The Glory of your strength lasts for a while but not long after Sickness or spear point will sever you from life. (1762-64) or bane-bearing age the brightness of your eye will dim and darken. (1767-68)
Hrothgar predicts that Beowulfs pride would be his demise and he was correct because Beowulf chooses to fight the dragon alone in his older years. Beowulf is no longer in his prime and he knows he will not be around forever and hopes to make a final score and let the people live out the rest of their days wealthy and without worry. But Beowulf still wants to fight the beast alone. Our old gift lord meant to manage this monster hot battle alone once again with his great wonder strength armed with a war name earned through a lifetime forged now with deeds (2642-46). Beowulf is not fighting these monsters because he believes he is a god but because he wishes to carry out a promise he gave long ago to his people. His only desire is to make the Geats happy.
i thing this story is a good to make a movie
beowulf movie reviwe
Based on an Anglo Saxon poem, this is the story of Beowulf (Ray Winstone), a warrior who travels to Heorot to rid the land of its monstrous ogre Grendal (Crispin Glover). However the beast is only the cusp of his undertaking, as Grendal’s mother (Angelina Jolie) battles her vain, naïve opponent in a clash that would forever establish the myth and legend of Beowulf.
A brave idea, to produce a movie from a manuscript supposedly written in 700 AD - even more so as the film’s director, Robert Zemeckis (the Back to the Future trilogy, Forrest Gump), decided to shoot the whole thing as ‘digitally enhanced live action’ aka - the biggest video game demo of all time.
